The LP5521is a three-channelLEDdriverdesignedto producevarietyof lightingeffectsfor mobiledevices.A high-efficiencychargepumpenablesLEDdrivingoverfull Li-Ionbatteryvoltagerange.Thedevicehas a programmemoryfor creatingvarietyoflightingsequences.Whenprogrammemoryhas beenloaded,LP5521can operateautonomouslywithoutprocessorcontrolallowingpowersavings
The devicemaintainsexcellentefficiencyovera wideoperatingrangeby automaticallyselectingproperchargepumpgainbasedon LEDforwardvoltagerequirementsandis ableto automaticallyenterpower-savemode,whenLEDoutputsare not activeand thus loweringcurrentconsumption.
ThreeindependentLEDchannelshaveaccurateprogrammablecurrentsourcesandPWMcontrol.Eachchannelhasprogrammemoryfor creatingdesiredlightingsequenceswith PWMcontrol.
TheLP5521has a flexibledigitalinterface.TriggerI/O and a 32-kHzclockinputallowsynchronizationbetweenmultipledevices.Interruptoutputcanbeusedto notifyprocessor,whenLEDsequencehasended.TheLP5521hasfourpin selectableI2C-compatibleaddresses.Thisallowsconnectingup tofour paralleldevicesin one I2C-compatiblebus.GPOand INT pins can be usedas a digitalcontrolpin forotherdevices
